Our Location

Energy Trust provides a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Business Systems Analyst would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

Under the general supervision of the Enterprise Applications Manager, the Business Systems Analyst analyzes, develops, implements, maintains, and manages Energy Trust applications and data. This position also develops and delivers reports and supports users of Energy Trust’s data and systems.

The Business Systems Analyst serves as an integral part of the IT Department and, as such, may be called upon to perform other IT duties in addition to those detailed here.

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyzes and documents how systems and databases are designed and how they currently function against business requirements.
  • Works proactively with the users and IT staff to identify and document business requirements and to architect and implement solutions.
  • Translates business requirements into technical requirements in support of the systems design process
  • Create and manage user stories and tasks in Azure DevOps or similar Agile project tracking tool
  • Coordinates the activities of persons engaged in development projects.
  • Manages projects using an Agile methodology.
  • Design standard quality UI/UX for applications
  • Tests and deploys applications and changes.
  • Coordinates user acceptance testing against documented acceptance criteria
  • Trains users for user acceptance testing and documents usage guidelines and procedures
  • Designs, develops, tests, and deploys reports to meet user needs.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript Syntax
  • Experience creating static and interactive wireframes in Axure or similar tool
  • Familiarity with XML and XSD schemas in support of REST and SOAP services
  • Intermediate understanding of creating SQL queries for data analysis
  • Develops and maintains accurate documentation on applications, data structures, queries, and reports.
  • Performs proactive application administration and maintenance tasks to keep assigned applications functioning efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform root cause analysis of medium-sized application outages, defects, and issues
  • Responds to user issues and finds solutions to resolve issues.
  • Provide issue management for end-user problems and ensure a consistent high-level responsiveness and customer care.
  • Trains users and documents usage guidelines and procedures.
  • Performs all functions of the job in a safe manner
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science from an accredited college or university; or equivalent education/experience in the information technology field- preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a business systems analyst.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems, data, and business analysis.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience writing T-SQL queries in fulfilling user data requests.
  • Experience with Reporting Tools including SSRS, SSIS and Power BI.
  • Experience developing data architecture.
  • Experience creating static and interactive wireframes in Axure or similar tool.
  • Experience developing interactive UI tests in Cypress or similar testing tools.
  • Basic understanding of JavaScript Syntax.
  • Basic understanding of XML and XSD schemas in support of REST and SOAP services.
  • Ability to accommodate various data quality considerations.
  • Experience providing software-related customer support and training to a non-technical user base.
  • Demonstrated ability to verbally, and in writing, communicate in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Experience managing small to medium size projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work off-hours and extended hours as needed to support IT processes and timelines.
  • Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications in the pay equity assessment to determine equitable salary placement.

Starting Compensation: 90,800 – $115,300
