Take the Next Step to Home Energy Efficiency

Getting started on the path to a more efficient and comfortable home just got easier. If you purchased a home recently in the city of Portland, you may already have a Home Energy Score and Report, which provides customized recommendations for your home. Energy Trust of Oregon will help you make improvements to your home, which could also improve your Home Energy Score.

The Home Energy Report evaluates your home’s characteristics and provides estimated energy use and associated costs. It includes recommendations to inform your home upgrade decisions, which can lower your energy bills and make your house more comfortable year-round.

You can find your Home Energy Score Report by searching here for your home’s address.

Ductless Heat Pumps

$500 cash incentive

Ductless heat pumps (aka mini split heat pumps) are a highly efficient way to provide heating and cooling to your home, and installation is easy for contractors. Operating entirely without ductwork, these systems provide significant energy savings in electrically heated homes such as those with baseboards, cadets, ceiling cables or forced air furnaces, and they can make your home more comfortable while lowering your energy costs.

Visit our ductless heat pump page for more information or talk to one of the approved Energy Trust trade allies below to see if ductless heat pumps are right for you:

Heat Pump Water Heaters

Special discounts provided at select retail locations or by participating trade allies

The average household spends between $300 and $600 each year on water heating costs, making it the second largest home energy expense after heating and cooling. Heat pump water heaters provide an efficient solution, as they are the only electric water heating solution to earn the ENERGY STAR® label. With advanced controls like vacation mode, they can even save you energy and money when you’re away.

Insulation

$0.25–$0.50/sq. ft. cash incentive

Properly insulating your floors, walls and attic can keep you comfortable throughout the year, reduce outside noise, save energy, and lower your heating and cooling costs. A professional installer can help you maximize the performance of your insulation by sealing air leaks before installing the insulation, increasing your comfort and energy savings.

Homes built before 1978 typically have about 75% less insulation than homes built to today’s standards. Make up the difference and get cash back when you insulate your attic, walls or floors.
