Energy Trust Home > Renewable Energy > REF Fund Grant Assistance > How to Participate
Energy Trust is currently receiving applications for assistance. We will review those applications as quickly as possible to help you use a consultant in preparing REF Fund applications in time to meet the REF Fund deadlines for receiving both the intake and the full application. The deadlines have not yet been set, but applicants to the Energy Trust REF Fund Assistance program are encouraged to contact Energy Trust as soon as possible.
To apply for Energy Trust assistance, applicants must complete and submit an Energy Trust Financial Assistance Application (Form 912R - PDF | Doc). If the application is approved, the approved participant will receive a “Grant Assistance Approval Letter” from Energy Trust.
If Energy Trust approves an applicant's Form 912R (PDF | Doc), Energy Trust will provide funding to reimburse the approved participant for 50% of the actual cost the participant incurs, up to a maximum of $3,000, for hiring a “Grant-Writing Consultant” to assist with writing a USDA-VAPG Application. See the Form 912R for details.
A list of Grant-Writing consultants is available from Energy Trust. An applicant may propose to hire a consultant who is not listed on Energy Trust's website, but such proposed consultants must be pre-approved by Energy Trust.
