An abundance of information exists on wind energy and community wind projects. Below are selected links to information sources on community wind and general wind energy technology:

Community Wind Guidebook

Energy Trust, in collaboration with NW SEED, has developed a Community Wind guidebook specifically for Oregon. This 106-page book introduces the basic concepts behind community wind development. It will provide you with enough understanding of the components of a project to be able to communicate effectively with industry experts, project partners, and community members. It includes information on assessing a wind resource, siting, permitting, ownership models, interconnection, financing, and sources of financial assistance. Get a Copy

Community Wind Assessment

Energy Trust has completed a study on Community Wind looking at barriers, benefits and finances of Community Wind projects. The goal of the assessment was to gain a better understanding of the likely ownership structures that will be used for community wind projects in the Northwest, to explore the barriers, opportunities, and costs associated with community wind, and ultimately to better understand the types and levels of financial and non-financial support that may be required to make such projects viable.

Generic Community Wind Term Sheet  - (coming soon)

This document describes a general framework for developing a Community Wind project with Energy Trust assistance, including a brief description of the topics typically included in a funding agreement. All projects are different, and this generic document does not constitute a contract, an offer, or a draft agreement.
