How to Participate

Energy Trust’s Existing Buildings program provides cash incentives to Oregon businesses for energy efficiency and renewable power measures. You must:

Choose your path

Energy Trust offers incentives for both standard measures and custom projects, as well as solar projects. Choose the path that best fits your needs:

Standard Incentive Path

It’s easy to qualify for Energy Trust’s standard incentives. Your trade ally may be able to complete the forms.

  1. Contact Energy Trust’s Existing Buildings program to discuss your plan.
  2. Submit Incentive Application (Form 120P Word | PDF).
  3. Pre-inspection, if project is over $5,000
  4. Install your new equipment
  5. Post-inspection, only if project is over $5,000
  6. Submit contractor invoice(s), Form 120P (Word | PDF) and IRS form W-9 to the addressed listed on the form.
  7. Receive your check

Custom Incentive Path

Projects eligible for Energy Trust’s custom incentives typically require an engineering study or other technical assistance in the project design process. All equipment purchases must receive pre-approval from the Existing Buildings program to qualify for custom incentives.

  1. Contact the Existing Buildings program to talk about your project plan.
  2. Submit Project Enrollment for pre-approval: Form 100E (Word | PDF).
  3. Pre-inspection, if project is over $5,000
  4. Implement project
  5. Post-inspection, if project is over $5,000
  6. Submit contractor invoice(s), Form 100E (Word | PDF), IRS Form W-9 and Completion Certificate Form 140C to the address listed on the form.
  7. Receive your check

*Large electric consumers of over one average megawatt or 8,760,000 kilowatt-hours a year are subject to the Energy Trust Self-Direct Policy.
