Reducing energy costs is a wise business choice. But where do you find the capital, staff and time to identify and implement energy-efficient projects? Energy Trust can help.
Energy Trust contracts with industrial process engineers throughout the state to conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and determine the most cost-effective energy measures at your facility.
These Program Delivery Contractors (PDCs) are highly skilled, subject-matter specialists who understand what works in your business and how to make the most of energy-saving opportunities. PDCs can help you implement your energy management upgrades and obtain all available Energy Trust incentives and Oregon Business Energy Tax Credits.

- Cash Incentives
Energy Trust offers cash incentives, calculated on an individual case-by-case basis for a wide range of energy-efficient process upgrades. The guidelines for the incentive calculations are based on the results of the technical analysis study:- For custom process or production equipment projects, Energy Trust incentives will pay up to $0.20/annual kWh saved or 50 percent of eligible project costs, whichever is less.
- For custom lighting projects, the incentive will be $0.15/annual kWh up to 30% of eligible project costs, whichever is less.
- Motors: Energy Trust pays a standard cash incentive of $10/hp for NEMA Premium motors of 200 hp or less. To see the list of eligible motors and learn more about the incentive, download the motor tool and form. Larger motors require custom analysis for an incentive of $0.20/annual kWh.
- Lighting: Depending on the size of your project, Energy Trust fixed cash incentives for a wide range of energy efficient lighting upgrades. Energy efficient lighting upgrades are the best first step in any energy efficiency program and pay back their investment cost through energy savings in as little as a few months.
- Post-installation Inspections
Let Energy Trust make sure the work was done right. To maintain a high-quality standard, the PDC conducts post-installation inspections of your project. PDCs can create a operation plan to make sure your facility's team understands how to maximize energy savings. PDCs can also prepare a Production Commissioning Oversight Plan for complex installations, oversee the commissioning process, and make sure the plan adequately addresses equipment startup and operator training.
- Training Opportunities
Energy Trust collaborates with local utilities and trade associations to provide training opportunities on energy topics for industrial facilities managers. Check the Energy Trust Training Calendar for more information.
Energy Trust will help pay for some of the recommended energy measures for industrial facilities under our standard incentive offerings. Your PDC can help you with the straightforward process of completing application forms.

The long-term eneregy savings from the new high efficiency equipment we purchased far outweighs the extra cost. We've already started another project with Energy Trust." Read the case study.
