Small Multifamily Properties (2 to 4 units)
Energy Trust has special incentives for weatherizing multiple unit dwellings that are too small to qualify for the multifamily program*, including the following property types:
- One Duplex (2 units total)
- Two Duplexes (4 units total)
- One Triplex (3 units total)
- One Fourplex (4 units total)
* Buildings or properties with 5 or more units are served by Multifamily Home Energy Solutions incentives.
Incentives for Small Multifamily Properties
- Insulation – Ceiling, Wall, Floor and Boiler Pipe
- $0.25 per square foot for ceiling insulation, not to exceed installation cost
- $0.45 per square foot for floor insulation, not to exceed installation cost
- $0.30 per square foot for wall insulation, not to exceed installation cost
- $0.50 per linear foot for boiler pipe insulation, not to exceed installation cost
- Duct Insulation
- Up to $100 per unit or per HVAC system, not to exceed installation cost
- Windows
- For windows with a U-Value of 0.30 or less, incentive is $2.25 per square foot
- Windows incentives are limited to $7,500 per building
- Windows must be installed with another eligible measure
- Air Sealing
- Electric-heated homes: 50 percent of cost, up to $400
- Gas-heated homes: 50 percent of cost, up to $275
- Air leakage test required: $35 per building tested
- Duct Sealing
- Gas-heated homes: 50 percent of cost, up to $325 per duct system
- Duct leakage test required: $35 per duct system tested

Just follow 2 easy steps to obtain your incentives and start saving.
Step 1 - Install qualifying measure. All measures must be installed by a trade ally or other qualifying contractor.
Step 2 - Sign and submit forms. Submit your contractor's invoice and Form 320U (with copies of National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) stickers for each type of qualifying window) within 120 days of initial measure installation to:
