Windows

Installing ENERGY STAR® qualified high efficiency windows reduces condensation while increasing house value and curb appeal.

If an Energy Trust trade ally contractor installs your windows, he or she can help you apply for the following incentives and tax credits. Windows must be installed together with a second complete energy saving measure. Both measures must be installed within 120 days of each other; the incentive application must be received within this time as well. Thermal upgrades (attic/ceiling insulation, floor insulation, or wall insulation) must meet all program specifications and requirements to qualify as a second complete measure. (Duct/Air sealing must meet maximum incentive amount to qualify as second measure.) See a list of Energy Trust trade ally contractors who install windows in your area.

Energy Trust Incentive

$2.25 per sq. ft.
U-Value 0.30 or less

Follow these easy steps to get cash back for your energy saving windows:

Step 1—Establish your eligibility.

Oregon residential customers who heat their homes with energy from Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas are eligible to participate.

Homes that heat with oil, propane, kerosene, butane or wood can conduct their own energy audit and apply for cash rebates for installed weatherization measures through the Oregon Department of Energy's SHOW (State Home Oil Weatherization) program.

If you are eligible, you may schedule a FREE Home Energy Review to identify energy saving opportunities in your home. Or, consider a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR assessment for comprehensive recommendations.

Step 2—Select a contractor to install your windows.

Energy Trust trade ally contractors are trained to help you with your incentive and tax credit applications, but you may use any licensed and bonded contractor and still receive the incentive and tax credits.

Step 3—Select your second energy saving measure and have it installed within 120 days of your window installation.

Step 4—Sign and submit your incentive application.

Mail in or fax your application along with:

  • Your contractor’s invoice or invoices, AND
  • The packing slip or manufacturer’s manifest showing proof of window dimensions and U-Value, AND
  • Incentive applications for second measure, to Energy Trust with your signed and completed incentive applications (Energy Trust form 300A) within 120 days of installation.
