Insulation Requirements for Window Incentives

Windows-only installations are permitted only when existing floor insulation is equal to or greater than R-11 and attic insulation is equal to or greater than R-19.

If either of these conditions is not met, then floor insulation or attic insulation must be installed to recommended levels.

Examples:

  1. If the attic is insulated to R-19 or better and the floor has less than R-11, then the floor must be insulated to recommended levels.
  2. If the floor is insulated to R-11 or better and the attic has less than R-19, then the attic must be insulated to R-38.
  3. If the attic has less than R-19 and the floor has less than R-11, then both measures must be insulated to recommended levels.

Please call us at 866-311-1822 for more information. See a list of Multifamily Home Energy Solutions standard incentives and new Lighting Incentives.

All measures will be inspected and must meet Energy Trust of Oregon Home Energy Solutions weatherization specifications.
