Does solar make sense for you? Do the math here with our solar calculator. It’s an interactive tool designed to help you estimate how much it will cost to install a solar electric system for your home and how much electricity you can expect to produce.

This calculator estimates the potential benefits and electricity generation that may occur in connection with a solar photovoltaic project based on certain assumptions. This tool does not in any way constitute a guaranty or warranty of any solar photovoltaic installation or any possible electricity generation that might result from such a project. Nor does this tool represent any obligation to provide any funding for any solar photovoltaic project, or guarantee any funding by Energy Trust. Any commitment for such funding will require a formal written funding agreement signed by you and Energy Trust.

The calculator assumes standard defaults for most categories to get you started, but you can customize it to your specific situation. Refer to your PGE or Pacific Power electric bills to estimate monthly energy costs. If you don’t know what system size or cost are appropriate, begin with defaults, which reflect the average for a typical home.

To get started, enter a zip code and click "Continue" or press the "Choose your city" button. After you input your location, the calculator will appear and you can enter information to see how a solar electric system might pencil out for you.
