Energy Trust no longer supports new large-scale projects. Since 2002 we have provided financial and other assistance for projects for Pacific Power and Portland General Electric (PGE), including:

  • Combine Hills Wind Farm: In 2003, Energy Trust provided a $3.8 million incentive to Pacific Power to support the development of a 41 MW wind farm in northeastern Oregon. The Combine Hills project uses 1 MW Mitsubishi turbines that are 55 meters high. The energy from this wind farm is enough to supply about 12,000 average households in Pacific Power’s service territory.
  • Klondike Wind Farm: In 2005, Energy Trust collaborated with PGE on their 75 MW expansion to the Klondike Wind Farm near Wasco, Oregon. The project consists of 50 1.5 MW GE turbines and produces enough energy to supply electricity to more than 18,000 homes.
  • Biglow Canyon Wind Farm: In 2007, Energy Trust provided a $6 million incentive to PGE for the construction of a 125 MW wind farm in Sherman County, 240 east of Portland. The project came on line in December 2007. For more information, check out PGE’s website.
  • Goodnoe Hills wind project: Energy Trust will pay up to $4.5 million to Pacific Power in incentives associated with the 94 MW Goodnoe Hills wind project near Goldendale, WA. The project will be completed in 2008.
