Renewable Energy Program Manager - has over twenty years experience in alternative energy, commercial and institutional energy efficiency and sustainable development. Alan came to the Energy Trust from the New Buildings Institute, a non-profit organization supporting energy efficiency in commercial buildings, where he managed a market transformation project for the California Energy Commission's Public Interest Energy Research program. Before that, Alan was a project analyst at Criterion Planners/Engineers where he developed land-use planning software in support of sustainable development for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. While at Criterion, he consulted with Pacific Corp. to develop energy efficiency programs and provide analysis services. Prior to joining Criterion, Alan designed, installed and tested electrical power generating systems that included wind, solar and diesel generating sources for Onsite Energy and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Alan holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Oregon.
