Understanding the value of early design engagement to establishing ambitious EUI goals
Join an informational webinar during Sustainable Building Week, where a panel of experts will discuss the value of integrated design charrettes in establishing impressive energy efficiency goals early in project planning.
Early design charrettes streamline the coordination across project teams and assist projects with meeting their lower EUI goals. By including professionals across different areas of expertise, project teams can ensure that all building systems will work together seamlessly while also keeping energy efficiency at the forefront of the building’s design considerations.
The discussion will include:
- A well-rounded panel of commercial construction professionals who are vital to a successful early design meeting.
- Expert recommendations, insights from past experience, and benefits and strategies for hosting successful early design meetings.
- Tools for making cost-informed design decisions for constructing energy-efficient, occupant-centered and above-code buildings.
Energy Trust Early Design Assistance (EDA) incentives will also be a topic for discussion, including:
- Early design assistance ($2,500 – $5,000 to offset the cost of the early design charrette itself)
- Solar add-on
- Grid-interactive efficient building (GEB) add-on
- Commissioning add-on
