If you live in Washington, you must heat your home with natural gas provided by NW Natural. Please read requirements listed in the Details tab before installing an upgrade.

  2. Select a contractor and have the work done.

To receive an Energy Trust cash incentive, contact a qualified energy-efficiency-trained Energy Trust trade ally contractor or any other licensed contractor with a current Oregon Construction Contractors Board license or current Washington contractor’s license.

  3. Receive your incentive upon installation.

Your contractor will apply your $550 incentive and $100 bonus as a discount to lower your project cost.

Gas furnaces in rentals: $550 + $100 bonus = $650 discount*

Your Energy Trust incentive will be paid directly to your trade ally contractor, who will deduct the incentive amount from your invoice, reducing your out-of-pocket expense. Please note that incentive amounts must not exceed the cost of your improvement project, and you are responsible for paying the balance of the invoice.

*Bonus is available between June 1 and December 31, 2019 when you install a qualifying gas furnace in your rental property.

To qualify for this incentive:

  • You must be the owner or occupant of a condo, townhome, duplex, triplex or fourplex rental property in Washington.
