Energy Trust’s board of directors is a non-stakeholder, volunteer board. Throughout the year, members bring together their expertise and unique perspectives to provide strategic and policy direction, shape Energy Trust’s plans and budgets, and provide oversight of Energy Trust management. The board carries out its oversight role collectively and through several committees. Its bylaws ensure Energy Trust board meetings and other processes are clear, open and accessible to the public.
The board is comprised of 13 voting members and two non-voting ex-officio members representing the Oregon Public Utility Commission and the Oregon Department of Energy. Voting members bring backgrounds in business, private consulting, government, utilities, trades and nonprofits. Members come from all parts of Energy Trust’s service area including Southwest Washington. As board openings arise, the board consults community-based organizations, advisory councils, individuals and collaborating organizations to identify candidates with appropriate experience and knowledge of customers underserved by Energy Trust.
