Our Location

Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Project Manager, Innovation and Development would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

The Project Manager–Innovation and Development is responsible for project managing the start-up of new, grant-funded programs from the point funding is secured until transition to the implementation team. This position builds out the scope and approach for this work, including project plans and key milestones. They lead cross- functional teams in completing plan tasks and ensure that deliverables are completed on time and to the quality required. They will also be responsible for successful change management. To be successful, this person will need to build strong, credible relationships across departments/business functions.

This position will be based in the Project Management Office, with a dotted line reporting to the Innovation and Development (InnDev) team. Energy Trust’s InnDev team is a new function within Energy Trust. The team is responsible for securing funding—typically grants and private contracts—to enable new programs and expand existing programs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Project manages new, grant-funded programs from pre-award planning through early implementation, which includes managing a cross-functional team of subject matter experts involved in launching new programs.
  • Coordinates staff on operational teams to set up new programs in the organization’s financial and data systems, organizational budget, and organizational business and staffing plan.
  • Coordinates staff on finance, operations, and legal teams to ensure processes and systems are appropriately set up to comply with grant or contract requirements, including federal compliance regulations.
  • Coordinates with HR and department managers to develop staffing plans and support the hiring of staff to implement new, grant-funded programs.
  • Coordinates the transition to implementation teams, including training implementation team staff on management and compliance requirements of the grant, as determined by subject matter experts in finance, operations and legal.
  • Works with the Project Management Office to create formal change management plans, which include communication, training, and resistance management components.
  • Manages day-to-day project activities including facilitating regular meetings, communicating regularly with stakeholders, and coordinating with the many team members and organizational subject matter experts.
  • Manages creation of project documentation including presentations, reports, and memos.
  • Presents projects to internal staff.
  • Project manages additional cross-functional projects and supports other organizational projects and initiatives if capacity allows.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Perform all functions of the job in a safe manner.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience, preferred,
  • Three years of experience in all aspects of managing multiple concurrent complex projects.
  • Experience facilitating, building, and managing high-performing project teams.
  • Strong organizational development skills, including time management, problem-solving, collaboration, and issue resolution.
  • Effective communicator both verbally and in writing – as well as a good listener, able to understand different perspectives, be open to feedback, and able to identify realistic and workable compromises.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and cooperatively with team members.
  • Ability to make presentations and produce clear, concise reports and recommendations.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software applications. Experience with SmartSheet, or other scheduling and planning tool knowledge, is helpful.
  • Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications in the pay equity assessment to determine equitable salary placement.

Starting Compensation: $70,700 – $88,300
