Design Museum Portland Summer Story Hour: Actionable Resilience

JULY 19, 2019 | 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • This event has passed.

How do we approach sustainability as it relates to our transportation, our energy usage, or the preservation of our historic roots?

To be sustainable is to consider long-term relationships between people and our surroundings – from the planet we call home, to the products we produce and use, and the neighborhoods we know and love. To critically look at the way we interact with these aspects of our lives on a daily basis, and to consider how those interactions might affect us 5 to 50 to 500 years from now, is to build more equitable resiliency in our city-wide growth. Portland’s passion and vulnerability therewith drives our technology and developments, and these can always be traced back to the individuals behind the innovation.

Join us for the Summer Story Hour kickoff, July 17 at Vestas as we hear the perspectives of individuals from a range of backgrounds and experiences, broadening our understanding of what it means to look to the future, while honoring the past.
