Gender refers to what society considers as characteristics of girls, boys, women, and men. However, there is so much more to recognize about gender that are often times purposely misnomered to help ease societal comfort levels when it comes to non-binary or genderqueer males and females. In this seminar, we will cover the harmful effects of gender discrimination, disband outdated stereotypes associated with race and gender and discover strong societal links between racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia.
