Energy Trust offers incentives for commercial buildings that install qualifying rooftop HVAC units. These packaged units have all the components for heating and cooling in one place, making them easier to install and service.     Energy Trust provides cash incentives to businesses for energy-efficiency and renewable power projects. To qualify, you must:

    • Have a project site in Oregon served by Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural, Cascade Natural Gas or Avista and contribute to the public purpose charge. Check your bill or contact Energy Trust if you have questions.
    • Be improving an existing structure.

Equipment Incentive
Rooftop Unit with Economizer (Gas or heat pump heating) $30/ton
Rooftop Unit with Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) (Gas heating) $29/ton
Rooftop Unit with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) (Gas heating) $100/ton
Rooftop Unit with DCV (Heat pump heating) $29/ton
Rooftop Unit with VFD (Heat pump heating) $100/ton

Incentives apply to equipment purchased on or after July 1, 2017. Incentives are subject to funding availability and may change.

Savings estimates are based on annual averages. Your actual savings may vary.

Projects that feature non-custom equipment with easy installation can be eligible for standard incentives. Eligible participants can receive up to $500,000 per site, per year for qualifying projects.
