For NW Natural customers in Washington, gas tankless water heaters with an energy factor (EF) of 0.82 or greater are eligible for a $200 incentive. Discuss your water heating needs with a trade ally contractor or other professional to ensure you get the right water heater for your household.
We do not offer cash incentives for gas tankless water heaters or high-output, gas condensing tank water heaters in Oregon.
If you are interested in purchasing either a gas tankless or gas condensing tank water heater, please consider the following when shopping:
- Tankless water heaters and gas condensing tank water heaters often cost more than traditional tank water heaters. There may be situations where these models may make more sense, such as new construction, very small spaces, or in homes with large families and high water use.
- Installing a gas tankless or gas condensing tank water heater may require venting or gas line changes that can increase the installation cost. Look for the yellow Energy Guide label or the ENERGY STAR® label to compare energy costs between models.
We regularly evaluate the costs of energy improvements as well as their benefits to you, the customer. This ensures that the utility ratepayer funds that Energy Trust manages are invested for the greatest public benefit.
