When retail space became available on the ground floor of the ecoFLATS building, Hopworks Urban Brewery owner Christian Ettinger knew it would be the perfect location for his latest outpost.

As a long-time proponent of energy efficiency and sustainable design, he was excited to be part of a building that was pursuing net-zero energy use. Energy Trust of Oregon trade ally Siteworks Design | Build helped the brewery tap into the building’s hydronic loop for heating, and installed energy-efficient kitchen equipment, saving the brewery an estimated $3,400 annually in energy costs.

“We wanted to be energy efficient. Siteworks showed us how to do it, and Energy Trust made the systems and equipment more affordable. It was a brilliant collaboration,” said Ettinger.
