Success Story
Uptown Apartments, Vancouver, Washington
3,540 annual therms saved, $2,800 annual energy cost savings
With apartment complexes popping up all over Vancouver, Washington, Cascadia Development Partners needed their latest building to stand out. That’s why they worked with Energy Trust of Oregon and NW Natural to install energy-efficient equipment that would lower energy costs for residents at the Uptown Apartments.
Mark Ickert, director of operations at Cascadia Development Partners, understands the importance of installing energy-saving equipment in new projects. Ickert said, “We could pass major energy savings along to tenants from day one.”
Ickert was familiar with the incentives available for new equipment through Energy Trust and NW Natural. “There are great opportunities to cut energy costs and help with equipment payback,” he said.
Using cash incentives from Energy Trust, Ickert’s team installed four high-efficiency commercial gas tank water heaters. ”
“With Energy Trust and NW Natural, you know up front what incentives you’ll get, and that definitely helps with budgeting and planning,” Ickert said. “I’m looking forward to working with them again.”
